This program allows students to participate in cultural activities outside of the school setting. We assist students in developing cultural values and awareness of the Hawaiian culture. Program Objectives:
Acquire knowledge & skills of Hawaii’s cultural heritage
Participate in Hawaiian cultural activities in an interactive and hands on setting.
Develop, cultivate, and embody Hawaiian values of being pono, lau lima, aloha, ohana.
Care for and recognize the importance of preserving Hawaii’s unique environment
Learn about how Polynesians voyaged to Hawaii, the plants they brought here to make settlement possible, plant uses, Hawaiian implements for surviving on remote islands, and Hawaiian lifestyles as a mahi'ai (farmer) and Lawai'a (fisherman).
