The contribution of an Ali`i Nui Member will change lives forever. Your charitable sponsorship will fully fund the opening of a new taro Patch, from groundbreaking to harvest, including:
- Clearing new farming lots, grubbing, plowing, and other preparatory farming activities;
- Lease and/or purchase of supplies and equipment, and equipment maintenance;
- Planting of cover crop, installing irrigation infrastructure with in-line drip, weed mat, mulch paper, PVC pipes, and four-thousand taro starters per acre;
- Crop diversification projects using other Hawaii food crops, including Bananas, Ulu, Lilikoi, Papaya, Mango, and Tī Leaves and the equipment, supplies, and manpower to initiate, irrigate, maintain and harvest these crops;
- Employment for one full-time mentor and three full-time farmers with disabilities.
As an Ali`i Nui, you will receive all of the benefits of a Konohiki, and also a monthly Mahalo basket of taro product from our plantation, two reserved tables at our annual dinner gala, a full page advertisement in our quarterly newsletter for one year, a koa sponsorship field plaque, and a recognition article in The Maui News.
